You know those red “class reports” you’ve been getting every 5 years? They were fun, weren’t they? But let’s face it, they were a bit retro. I mean a printed pamphlet, for goodness sake. Who does that anymore?
So as we emerge from our Covid quarantines and prepare to celebrate 45 years since fleeing the bonds of Cambridge, it is time to embrace new technology. The class directory is going online—our first ever Virtual Red Book! And OMG, you can even include uploaded photos. What will they come up with next, pushbutton phones?
While a 45th anniversary lacks the cachet of either the rounder 40th or 50th ones, if my math is correct it does mean we are all about 70, plus or minus. That is an inflection point where most of us have scaled back the professional activities that occupied us for most of our lives and have embraced new opportunities, new challenges, or new ways to enjoy ourselves.
So share. Press the magic buttons on this page and tell your classmates what you’ve been up to. Have you judges taken senior status? Are the professors among us now “emeriti” and the partners now “of counsel?” Have you moved someplace amazing or bought a boat? Tell us and make us jealous. What about the grandkids? They’re almost certainly worth boasting about! If the last 18 months have taught us anything, it is that we thrive on interpersonal connection. A new, online class directory is a perfect way to connect. Thanks in advance for taking the time to share.
I close with wishes for good health, interesting experiences, and happiness for you and yours for many more years to come. Stay safe, stay well, and each, in your own way, continue to fight for justice.
Warmly,

Roger E. Schechter ‘76
